The Coach of Bafana Bafana, Stuart Baxter has vowed to stop the Super Eagles when they lock horns on Saturday in Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo. Baxter who made the statement in a recent chat with journalists hinted that his team was currently studying the free-flowing pattern of the Super Eagles in order to stop them when they meet.
He lamented that though the South African team has not prepared adequately like their Nigerian counterpart that have been in camp for about three weeks in France, they would destroy the chances of Nigeria's qualification for the African Cup of Nation (AFCON).
“We have got very little time to prepare in comparison to Nigeria’s three weeks in France in training camps. We have very little time and so we need to maximize our training. The reports I got from Nigeria is that offensively they are very strong‚ defensively they all work very hard."
“They are on a good run of results‚ so they look very confident. So the way we are going to play is very‚ very much to try and be the biggest problem we can be‚ to be the nightmare that they do not want. What we have got is not 100 percent perfect and I hope going forward we will hit the spot better. None of that is meant as an excuse that is just information we have got for you guys and we will do absolute whatever we can every minute we have got.”
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles have since arrived Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital preparatory for the match.
