Heartland Football Club of Owerri have directed their technical crew led by Ramson Madu to step aside following the team’s poor run of form in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season.
The Naze Millionaires have struggled to make an impact since their return to the top flight and sit in the 18 position with 13 points from 12 games.
Madu’s last game in charge of the Naze Millionaires was Wednesday’s NPFL rescheduled match day 10 fixture against Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo which ended in a 2-1 defeat.
According to a release signed by the media officer of the club Henry Echefu, the management of the club under the leadership of Goodfaith Chibuzor Etumena have also directed Ezekiel Onyegbulem to take charge of the team on a temporary basis.
Onyegbulem will be assisted by the club’s youth coach Isaac Mbaegbu.
Reacting to his suspension, Madu said he has no hard feelings for the club.
“I don’t have any misgiving or grudges against the management of the club. They took the decision they believe is right for the team and I don’t have anything against them,” Madu said.
Madu however refused to state whether he will be interested in returning to the club in any capacity.
“I don’t have any comment on that. Let’s wait and see what happens in future.”
His last game in charge of the Naze Millionaires was Wednesday’s 2-1 loss against Akwa United.
The Owerri club who sit in 18th position in the table will host Nasarawa United in a match day 14 fixture at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday.
