Super Eagles Midfielder, Joel Obi, became the first Nigerian player to make 100 Serie A appearances on Saturday while in action for Torino in their 3-0 win over Bologna on Saturday.
Goals from Lorenzo De Silvestri, Mbaye Niang and Iago Falque secured the win for Torino.
Obi surpassed Ogenyi Onazi who appeared in 76 Serie A games and scored four goals for Lazio, while Obafemi Martins made 88 Serie A appearances for Inter Milan and scored 28 goals.
Joel Obi played for only 34 minutes in Saturday’s encounter as he was replaced by Afriye Acquah following an injury in what was the Nigerian’s 12th start of the season for Torino. Obi has scored twice this season in Serie A.
Torino are now ninth in the Serie A table with 28 points from 20 games
