Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos has revealed what his teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo earned after scoring a wonder goal against Juventus on Tuesday night in the first leg of the Champions League Quarter final encounter.
The Spain international said he was thrilled when the crowd applauded his teammate, stressing that the goal gave Ronaldo the prize of public recognition.
“He helps us and I hope he stays that way all season, his goal is amazing but we value the collective work. You are surprised by the goal, but you have to value the work he does for the team.
“It was a great goal, it really captivated me to see the reaction of the crowd and he gets the prize of public recognition. Given the result, maybe it's for the best that I'll miss the second leg. It's not that bad!.
"I think it's the first time that I've been shown a yellow for being fouled. The tie? It's not over yet. We could've extended our lead, but we weren't able to. Now we have to finish [the tie] off.
"Ronaldo's overhead kick? It was a 'golazo.' He's also won the prize of fans recognising that he's played at this level for so many years. He's in a scary run of form. I hope he can see out the season like this. The result? Impeccable, very good. Everything went perfectly, but now we must finish the job at home"
Meanwhile, LA Galaxy striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reacted to the goal scored by the Portugal international. Speaking on ESPN's Sportscentre on Tuesday night, the former Manchester United player said
“It was a nice goal, but he should try it from 40 meters.”
He added: “I mean I’m still jetlagged. I’ve been here for four days, trying to pass the days with energy as much as possible but it hasn’t been easy. But people approaching me and saying, ‘Welcome to LA, it was a crazy goal, it was a crazy game’ and all positive things, so I just feel happy and welcome.”
