Former Barcelona and Juventus star, Dani Alves has revealed the reason why he decided to leave Juventus for Paris Saint Germain (PSG) last summer. Speaking with Sky Italia, the Brazilian said;
"I have already told my old teammates why I left: because I had thought that Italian football was meant to be improving. I wanted to do even more [at Juve] but it wasn't easy for me, I wasn't always happy with what I did. Now I'm happy at PSG because I've been taught that, in football, you have to do the best you can and I'm free to do that and be happy."
He queried the pattern of play at his last club stressing that Napoli, Juventus’ bitter rival represent modern day football.
"I expect Italian football in general to change, for example, even after what happened to the national team, it's not a problem with the coach but with their football in general because it has dropped in quality.
"They should follow the example of Napoli. I really like them and the vision that Napoli has is useful for improving football."
