Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday 14th April, defeated Werder Bremen 5-0 to move 16 points clear of Bayern Munich, hence clinching the Bundesliga with five (5) games to spare without a single defeat.
Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen who are yet to taste defeat in the league have also remained undefeated in all competitions they have participated in this season. After historically clinching the Bundesliga, the team is now on course for a historic treble.
Leverkusen who last won a title in 1979, hold a 2-0 advantage over West Ham ahead of Thursday's Europa League second leg and will face second-division Kaiserslautern in the German cup final.
