Several of the world’s biggest websites and apps, such as Snapchat, Zoom as well as some banks, are down due to an outage affecting Amazon Web Services (AWS).
This was noticed in the early hours of Monday by an outage-tracking website, Downdetector, with a notification on the AWS dashboard saying, “engineers were immediately engaged and are actively working on both mitigating the issue.”
AWS further said, “The underlying DNS issue has been fully mitigated, and most AWS service operations are succeeding normally now.”
AWS is Amazon’s cloud computing service, which plenty of websites and platforms are subscribed to, such as Apple Music, Lyft, McDonalds, YouTube, amongst others.
