The United Nations Refugees Agency has criticised Nigeria for breaching international treaties after forcefully deporting a Cameroonian Anglophone separatist and his supporters.

UNHCR said that most of those handed over to Yaoundé authorities had applied for asylum in Nigeria.

Julius Ayuk Tabe and 46 others were extradited at Cameroon’s request on January 26.

Cameroon's minister of communications says 47 suspected separatists and leaders of a group that declared the independence of English-speaking regions have been extradited from Nigeria.

Issa Tchiroma Bakary said those extradited arrived in Cameroon on Monday. He said among them were Julius Ayuk Tabe, who in October proclaimed himself the president of Ambazonia. Tabe and nine others were arrested in Abuja, Nigeria, in January.

The Kaduna state Police command has declared a massive clampdown on all users of unapproved tinted glass vehicles cars on the roads.

The state commissioner of Police, Austin Iwar, who gave the hint on Wednesday when he paraded 38 armed robberies and kidnap suspects, said the move has become important following series of security breaches which included kidnapping and armed robbery in some parts of the state.

According to the Police Commissioner, the suspects who were part of the gangs that have been terrorising motorists along Kaduna-Abuja highway and Zaria were arrested after a fierce gun battle with operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Safer Highway Squad.

Coalition of Civil Society Organizations for Justice and Equity (Coalition-JE), has written a petitioned to the House of Representatives against the IG of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

The group petitioned the House over what it described as “total disregard of court judgments” by the Inspector-General of Police.

Hon. Rita Orji, member representing Ajeromi/Ifelodun federal constituency of Lagos State, read the petition signed by Comrade Olayemi Success on behalf of the coalition.

The petitioners said that the IGP has fragrantly disregarded various court judgments against him and the Police and in favour of the of the Trustees of Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) and its National Commandant, Amb. Dickson Akoh.

Minister of power, works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola assured that all administrative matters affecting the best performance of Transmission Company of Nigerian has been resolved.

The minister stated this when he appeared before an investigative hearing by the House Committee on power.

Mr Fashola also enumerated 125 uncompleted TCN projects across the country, which he attributed to certain pending issues, of which only 40 were viable for completion.

In less than 24 hours after a chartered aircraft lost its tyres and landing gear at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, another plane, a commercial aircraft belonging to Dana Air, used its left wing to hit a fence at the facility on Friday. It was gathered that Dana flight, with registration number 5N-DEV from Port Harcourt, brushed the fence while trying to park after it landed at the NAIA.
