The Senate on Wednesday passed the Federal Capital Territory Development Commission (FCTDC) bill through the second reading. The bill aims to create a specialized commission tasked with managing the development of satellite towns within a 60-kilometer radius of the FCT’s borders.

The former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has honored the invitation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged misappropriation of funds. On Thursday, a Sikorsky SK76 helicopter operated by East Wind Aviation crashed into the waterways near Bonny Finima in the Atlantic Ocean while en route from Port Harcourt Military Base (DNPM) to the FPSO – NUIMS ANTAN oil rig. The incident occurred at approximately 11:22 a.m., resulting in the recovery of three bodies out of eight individuals on board.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the scrapping of the Ministries of Niger Delta, and Sports Development. The decisions were recommended at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday in Abuja. The Special Adviser Information and Strategy to President, Bayo Onanuga disclosed this on his X handle. “There will now be a Ministry of Regional Development to oversee all the Regional Development Commissions, such as the Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and the North East Development Commission”.
