A federal high court in Abuja has declared unlawful, Pat Utomi’s plan to establish a shadow government or cabinet in Nigeria. The judgment was delivered on Monday by the presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho, who declared the concept as unconstitutional and foreign to the nation’s presidential system of government in a suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/937/2025 and filed by the Department of State Services (DSS).

A Federal High Court in Abuja has held that Nnamdi Kanu has a case to answer in the terrorism charges brought against him, rejecting his defence’s attempt to have the matter dismissed at the close of the prosecution’s case. Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has imposed a one-month suspension on 87 government officials, including commissioners, senior special assistants, special assistants, and permanent secretaries, for their absence from a critical state function. The suspension, which takes immediate effect, impacts 25 commissioners, 14 senior special assistants, 24 special assistants, and 22 permanent secretaries. During the suspension period, the affected officials are prohibited from signing any official documents.
