The United States of America has indicated a commitment to support the Nigerian National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA with forensics and chemical analysis capacity as well as intelligence gathering capacity in the discharge of their duty.
Vigil360 learned that the spokesperson of the agency, Femi Babafemi made this known in a statement. The support was disclosed by the US Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs comes after the BUA CEO Abdul Samad Rabiu Initiative declared an award of an N500 million grant to fund selected projects in the anti-narcotics agency in Nigeria.

The Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted Doyin Okupe, for Money laundering. Okupe was a former senior special assistant (SSA) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. He is currently the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the Labour Party (LP).

The Independence Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) has released Nigerian Singer Oladapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D'banj, who was apprehended and detained over the alleged diversion of N-Power funds. D'banj was arrested on 7th December 2022 for allegedly conniving with some politicians and banks to divert funds meant for the payment of president Buhari's innovation scheme meant for the sole aim of elevating youths (N-Power) It has been gathered that the singer was released on the ground of self-recognition on 9th December 2022 after spending two nights of detention with the commission and that he may be summoned whenever for further investigation.

In a bid to stem the tide of car theft, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, commissioned an online platform known as the Central Motor Registry Command Centre (CMRCC) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, in order for members of the public to report stolen vehicles in the country for possible recovery. This was made known on Wednesday in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumutiwa Adejobi, stating that the digitalized centre was domiciled at the Department of Information and Communication Technology.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has detained popular singer and songwriter, D’banj over the alleged diversion of an unspecified amount of N-power project funds. It is alleged that the singer colluded with some government officials to introduce ghost beneficiaries into the N-power payroll scheme and the stipends paid to those beneficiaries were traced and allegedly paid directly into bank accounts connected to D’banj.
