The Kaduna state government says it never appointed any individual or group to negotiate with criminal bandits on its behalf over the case of abduction of the 39 students of the College of Forestry Mechanisation who were taken forcefully by bandits some days back. The state commissioner for internal security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan stated this on behalf of the state government yesterday; therefore warned that any person found negotiating with the bandits would be prosecuted by the state government.

A group, under the aegis of Igbo Youths in Nigeria and Diaspora (IYINAD), has petitioned the British High Commission in Abuja demanding for the extradition of the leader of the Indigenous Peoples Of Biafra (IPOB) NnamdiKanu over his unguarded utterances and incitement of violence in Nigeria, especially the ordering of his nascent group, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) to attack police and military personnel in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria. The group also cited his previous unguarded utterances that have led to the breakdown of law and order in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria including Abia, and Rivers state during the #EndSARS protest which led to the deaths of policemen and military personnel in Aba andOyigbo respectively.

A High Court sitting in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom state has found Prof. Peter Ogban guilty of manipulating election results and has sentenced him to serve a jail term for36 months. The Presiding Judge, Justice Augustine Odokwo, also ordered Ogban to pay the sum of N100,000 as a fine for the count 2 charge, which is a falsification of the result in Etim Ekpo/Oruk Anam collation centers he manipulated during the 2019 National Assembly election held February 24.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu has ordered an immediate investigation into miseries surrounding the alleged attack on the Benue state Governors convoy. On Saturday, gunmen attacked Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state while returning from his farm along Makurdi-Gboko road precisely at, Tyo mu village. While narrating the incident, the Governor alleged that the attack was perpetrated by herders but he narrowly escaped by the grace of God.
