The Socio-Economic Right and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences (ICPC) to as a matter of urgency investigate the allegation surrounding the hoarding of the COVID-19 palliative by some state governors.

Hundred of youth in Adamawa state today break into a warehouse belonging to the state government and carted away food items worth millions of naira. The warehouse located in a suburb along Numan-Yola road called Kwananwaya in the state capital where bags of rice and other food items were looted away by the rampaging youth.

The Pan-Yoruba Socio-political organization, Afenifere has denied rumor making round that they have issued a quit notice to Igbos residing in the Yoruba lands to leave. Afenifere said the initiator of the 48hours quit notice is not in any way related to the group nor is he speaking for the group but of his personal opinion.

The Federal Government says the attempted attack on the Ikoyi Correctional Centre has been successfully repelled by the security agents. This afternoon, there was attempted jailbreak on the prison by the protesters of EndSARS in Lagos. Though the protesters have set part of the facility ablaze but did not succeed in gaining entrance. In reaction to the incidence, the Ministry of Interior has assured that the situation was brought under control.

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki has caution President Buhari-led government to order its military to exercise restraint in handling protesters. Saraki, describing the shooting by the security agents as a massacre cable of throwing the country into chaos, advises the security chiefs to apply rules of engagement when handling issues bordering on unarmed civilians as well as show compassion in considering their demand.

In a wake of the EndSARS campaign staged by some youth across the country since last week, some arrant protesters have this afternoon set another police station at Orile Iganmu area of Lagos state.
