President Buhari on Monday told Nigerian youths who have been protesting under the auspices of #EndSARS that it is in their interest to keep the peace. According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the President spoke while receiving in audience the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, Nigeria’s former Minister of Environment, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The statement was titled, “It’s in the interest of our youths to keep the peace, says President Buhari.”

The presidency has said that those who deliberately allowed themselves to go on a rampage of the destruction of life and properties during the EndSARS protest must face the law to account for their action. Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu stated this yesterday while speaking on Channel Television Programme, Sunday Politics.

An Appeal court of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has convicted six Nigerians over alleged funding of Boko Haram activities in Nigeria. The appellate court upheld the conviction earlier passed on by the lower court accusing the group of funding the Boko Haram activities.

The Department of State Services in Bayelsa State has arrested a four-member kidnap syndicate for an alleged attempt to abduct the Chairman of Yenagoa Local Government Council Area, Uroupaye Nimizuoa. The suspects are a 43-year-old prophet, Kingsley Amos, a spiritualist, Tari Erigi, an information communication technology expert, Philip Anayo, and a lady, Nsikan Sunday. Parading the culprits in Yenagoa on Friday, the DSS Deputy Director of Operations, Femi Shotayo, said they also sent life-threatening text messages to the Yenagoa council boss.

The National Economic Council (NEC) yesterday revealed that the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and their collaborators secessionist were the shadows that hijacked the protest and widespread lawlessness across the country. Hoodlums have reportedly hijacked the EndSARS protest that caused lawlessness and widespread looting of both private and public properties that worth billions of naira.
