President Muhammadu Buhari has intimated the National Assembly seeking confirmation of the recently appointed Service Chiefs. Mr. President’s aide on National Matters (Senate), Babajide Omoworare, made this known in a statement on Friday. The former Senator said the letter, addressed to the President of the Senate, was dated January 27. The statement reads in part “President Muhammadu Buhari has communicated the appointment of the Service Chiefs to the National Assembly and has sought for the confirmation of the said appointment by the Senate through his letter to the Senate President dated 27th January 2021. This was done in furtherance of Section 18 (1) of the Armed Forces Act Cap. A.20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.

Be patriotic; serve the country well, as your loyalty is to the country.” Buhari congratulated the newly appointed service chiefs for their new assignment saying; “There’s nothing I can tell you about the service because you are in it. I was also in it, and I will pray for you. I also assure you that whatever I can do as Commander-in-Chief will be done, so that the people will appreciate your efforts.

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has today slammed the remarks made by the Miyetti Allah Kautel Hore leader, Bello Bodejo that all lands in Nigeria are owned by Fulani. The National President of the AYCF, Yerima Shettima explained that contrary to Bodejo’s claim, nobody owns any land in Nigeria but the Federal Government according to the land use act.

The South West Governors has today after meeting with the Miyetti Allah, the Cattle Herders Association in Nigeria have unanimously banned all forms of open grazing in the region. The decision by the Southwest Governors was reached today after a rigorous meeting with the leadership of the herdsmen, Miyetti Allah cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) as well as the security chiefs of the region.
