President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians especially the elite class to be fair when it comes to criticizing his style of administration through considering parameters the present government met on the ground when it took over the administration. Buhari made this call today at the Presidential Villa, Abuja when the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christians Pilgrim Commission, Reverend Yakubu Pam, paid him a courtesy visit.

The Federal Government has announced the closure of strategic roads in preparation for the 2021 Nigeria Armed Forces scheduled for Friday, 15th January 2021. Affected roads are those assessing the National Arcade, the Phase I, II, and III of the Federal Secretariat complexes, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.

About seven persons have been reportedly kidnapped in Kadauri, a community in Jabaka district, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, on Friday, when bandits stormed the village unleashing terror on the people. Confirming the incident the Public Relations Officer of Zamfara State Police Command, SP Shehu Mohammed, on Friday, said seven children of one Alhaji Sani Gyare and one other a female from a neighbouring house in Kadauri village, Maru LGA of the state were abducted when notorious bandits entered the village with motorcycles and weapons.

Following the industrial action embarked upon by staff of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) on Thursday over the fear of the spread of COVID-19 in the agency, the workers have Friday suspended the strike action. The suspension of the strike was after the Federal Government agreed to address their demands. Asekokhai Lucky, the President of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, NIMC Unit confirmed the suspension, saying workers were already contacted to resume work on Monday, 11 January 2021.

Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari has revealed on Friday that security forces have freed 103 persons from the clutches of kidnappers in the state. According to the governor, the latest rescue was is in continuation of the exercise that started with the recovery of the 244 students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara.
