The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde says he would not sit down and watch enemies of peace ignite an ethnic war under his watch as the chief security officer of the state. This was made known through the Chief Press Secretary of the governor, Taiwo Adisa, yesterday shortly after the governor finished having a security meeting with security agencies in the Ibarapa area of the state.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has gone against the ridiculous claim by some Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari is a clone and that Nigeria has “a new Buhari from Sudan” in Aso Rock. Mr. Obasanjo made the above statement while answering questions in a virtual interview with historian, Toyin Falola, on Sunday. He also expressed concern over the incessant attacks on innocent and insecurity in the North West of the country, where President Muhammadu Buhari is from.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed an Academy Adjutant of the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Lt-Col Yusuf Muktar Dodo as his new Aide-De-Camp (ADC), Garba Shehu Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity confirmed the appointment. According to Shehu, Dodo will take over from Col. Abubakar Lawal who is set to proceed on a promotion course and on completion will be promoted to Brig-Gen alongside his mates. The promotion course is a five-month Strategic and Defence Course in Santiago, Chile, between March 8 and July 30, 2021.

President Muhammadu Buhari has intimated the National Assembly seeking confirmation of the recently appointed Service Chiefs. Mr. President’s aide on National Matters (Senate), Babajide Omoworare, made this known in a statement on Friday. The former Senator said the letter, addressed to the President of the Senate, was dated January 27. The statement reads in part “President Muhammadu Buhari has communicated the appointment of the Service Chiefs to the National Assembly and has sought for the confirmation of the said appointment by the Senate through his letter to the Senate President dated 27th January 2021. This was done in furtherance of Section 18 (1) of the Armed Forces Act Cap. A.20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.
