As part of efforts to reform the country prison, the Federal Executive Council (FEC), during its weekly meeting yesterday approved a contract of 2.8 billion naira for the installation of a digital web-based integrated system to fast-track prisons decongestion across the country. The approval was granted during the FEC meeting, presided over by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN at the State House, Abuja.

The Senate on Wednesday has resolved to earmark N10billion in the 2019 budget to carter for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and other Nigerians affected by the banditry activities in Zamfara state. The resolution was reached sequel to deliberation on a motion sponsored by Kabiru Marafa (APC Zamfara central).

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has debunked the news going around that there were casualties in the fire incident that occurred at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, on Monday. According to the General Manager, FAAN’s Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, while briefing the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

There was mild drama at the Sam Mbakwe international cargo airport in Owerri, Imo State on Monday following reports of a fire outbreak at the arrival section of the airport. Tho no report of any casualties yet but it was reported that equipment and infrastructure were said to have been damaged.

 The Federal Government of Nigeria on Sunday has ordered all foreign miners to vacate mining sites in Zamfara state and its environs this is done in a bid to curb the growing cases of banditry in the state and the North West region of  Nigeria.

The Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) on Sunday stated that five persons were killed and 30 others wounded in a suicide bomb attack in the outskirts of Maiduguri.
