As part of plans for the 2019 Workers day celebration, the Federal Government has declared Wednesday, May 1, as a public holiday. The Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government while congratulating Nigerian workers on their commitment and sacrifice toward building a greater Nation.

Worried by the growing cases of Police brutality on the civil populace, Mohammed Adamu mni, acting Inspector-General of police, has disclosed that the police will commence the deployment of less lethal weapons during operations.

The Nigerian Army spokesman Colonel Sagir Musa has revealed to the public that Major General SZ Kazaure, Director General of the National Youth Service Corps has been replaced by Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim. SZ Kazaure having attained the rank of Major General has been posted to Nigerian Army Resource Centre and appointed as Senior Resource Person.

Worried by the growing cases of insecurity in the country, the Director General of the Directorate of State Security (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, fwc has opined that security agencies in the country must come together to tackle the challenges. He made the assertion at a meeting organized for Spokespersons of Security and Response Agencies at the Secret Police National headquarters in Abuja.
