The Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun has established an ad hoc committee tasked with an in-depth review of firearms licensing and regulations by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). This was disclosed on Monday in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stating that this in line with the Firearms Act and other extant laws.

About thirty people have lost their lives in a landslide reportedly triggered by activities of illegal miners in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). There was serious chaos and panic as fire erupted in part of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria. It was reported that the fire started on Tuesday night. It was gathered that the fire was caused by a cable malfunction on the Tarmac, which resulted in the destruction of some parts of FAAN's administrative office.
