The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has denied media reports that the Department of State Services (DSS) carted away incriminating files relating to President Bola Tinubu from its facility and that of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB). The commission emphatically stated that the ICPC never possessed files implicating Tinubu at its headquarters or offices across the states, adding that the alleged carting away of such ‘imaginary files’ was unfounded and should be disregarded by the public.

The Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA, Shehu Ahmed, has said all structures on waterways and flood corridors across the capital city will be demolished by the FCT administration. Mr. Ahmed revealed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

Former Governor of Zamfara state, Sani Yerima Bakura has called on the Federal Government to find a way of dialoguing with the bandits that has worsen the security situation in the north-western part of the country. The former Sharia champion made this known while speaking with the BBC Hausa service today through the mirror-imaging of the bandits to the Niger Delta militants, saying if genuine dialogue is achieved, it may lessen the insecurity.

Following the recent downpour which submerged 116 houses in the Trademore estate at Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory on 23rd June, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Mr. Olusade Adesola has declared the area a disaster zone after an assessment visit to the area. “Having seen the extent of the flooding, we hereby declare the Trademore area a disaster zone that needs immediate action to remedy further damages and loss of lives and properties.“This is part of steps to address the incessant flooding at the Trademore Estate. “I want to assure residents that adequate steps will be taken to forestall further damages to properties and loss of lives to flooding at the Estate.”
