President Muhammadu Buhari administered the oath of office to new commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).


The swearing-in ceremony of the 10 commissioners who were confirmed by the Senate in March was held on Wednesday prior to the weekly virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House, Abuja.

The commissioners of NPC include Benedict Effiong (Akwa Ibom State), Gloria Izonfo (Bayelsa State), Kupchi Iyanya (Bayelsa State), Dr. Haliru Bala (Kebbi State), and Dr. Eyitayo Oyetunji (Oyo State).

The commissioners of ICPC include a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police; Olubenga Adeyanju (Ekiti State), Goni Gujba (Yobe State), Dr. Louis Mandama (Adamawa State) and Anthony Agbo (Ebonyi State), Anne Odey (Cross River State).

The president proceeded into the agenda of the weekly FEC meeting immediately after the conclusion of the swearing-in ceremony.
