Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has congratulated the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr Oluwatosin Ajayi, on his commendation by the Nigerian National Committee of the International Press Institute (IPI), for upholding press freedom, describing the honour as a clear validation of professionalism and deep respect for democratic ideals.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting all faiths and promoting religious tolerance and harmony as Nigerians join the rest of the world in celebrating Christmas. In his Christmas message, the President said his government would deepen sustained engagement with leaders of Christianity and Islam to prevent conflict, address insecurity, and strengthen national unity and stability.

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) disclosed on Monday, as part of its public enlightenment awareness on the new tax laws, that the National Identification Number (NIN) is now systematically the Tax Identification Number (TIN) for all Nigerians, following public worries about aspects of the new tax laws that mandate the use of a Tax Identification Number for specific transactions, such as operating a bank account.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has taken steps to address the rising challenge of drug abuse within the public service to improve productivity and security by introducing a compulsory drug screening policy for all intending public service employees.
