The Federal Government has received the Nominal role of about 41 universities in preparation to capture the university staff into the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS). Punch reported that the IPPIS coordinator in the office of the Accountant General office, Mr Olusegun Olufehinti was contacted where he confirmed receipt of the nominal roll.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) said on Wednesday there is no going back on its rejection of the Federal Government’s Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). The National President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, said in Lagos that there is nowhere in the world where such a development is obtained. 

Worried by the bottlenecks prospective candidates of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) undergo before their registration, the House of Representatives has on 13th November 2019 called on Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to suspend the policy of National Identification Number (NIN) as a requirement for intending candidates.

It can be recalled that when the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) was set up about 40 years ago, it was to serve as the nation’s apex think tank and serve as a high-level centre of reflection, research, and dialogue.
