The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has begun a two- week warning nationwide strike with effect from Monday, March, 9. Many students have expressed their displeasure about the development which they stressed will apparently tamper with their Academic calendar. The union's National President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, made this public at end of the National Executive Council meeting (NEC) held at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT).

Danjuma Alhassan for sexual Harassment of a female student of the institution. During the 91st regular meeting of the Governing Council of the Polytechnic held on January 30th, 2020 at the institution, the Council approved the termination of the appointment of the said Lecturer with immediate effect after he was found guilty.
