President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the removal of the suspended Registrar of the National Examination Council (NECO), Prof. Charles Uwakwe and four other directors. The four directors include Mr Bamidele Olure, Acting Director, Finance and Accounts;

The Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Education has cautioned against the resumption of schools at all levels, stressing that vice-chancellors must maintain the closure of federal, state and private universities so as to keep people and students safe from the coronavirus pandemic.

The National Examination Council (NECO) has on Wednesday said it has not postponed the conduct of the 2020 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The Academic Staff of Universities has commenced an indefinite strike action. The union's President, Biodun Ogunyemi made this known at its press briefing in its National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday, revealing that the Federal Government has failed to address the issues that were raised by its member.
