The Academic Staff Union of the Nigerian Universities, ASUU has this morning called off the industrial action. ASUU Chairman, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi disclosed this while addressing newsmen shortly after the Union negotiations with the Federal Government. The Academicians embanked on the industrial action nine months ago.

A bigwig of the Academic Staff Union of the Nigeria University, ASUU, Dr Christian Opata has rejected the claim that the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information Management System (IPPIS) was the sole purpose the Academicians have refused to go back to the classroom in the last one year. Opata, an ASUU chairman of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN chapter made this claim today while briefing newsmen on the prolonged industrial action.

In a bid to promote excellence in tertiary institutions, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has increased the value of its National Admissions' Performance-Merit Award (NATAP-M Award) by 150 percent with the second edition of the Awards ceremony. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, Head of Media and Information, JAMB made this known during an interview on Friday, noting that the Award ceremony is scheduled to take place on 17 December 2020. "We are set to hold our 2019 NATAP-M Award which is a yearly ceremony.

Babatunde Ekanola with 275 votes has emerged as the University of Ibadan acting Vice-Chancellor after Idowu Olayinka tenure has elapsed. The election which is yet to be ratified by the Governing Council of the university saw a number of five (5) candidates contesting for the post.
