The Federal Government has on Thursday announced the reopening of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camps across the country with effect from November 10, 2020. In a statement issued by the Crops' Director, Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi during the Batch ‘B’ Pre-Orientation Workshop in Jos; with the theme: ‘Evolving a dynamic operational strategy in the management of camps in the context of COVID-19’. Adeyemi said the NYSC is committed to enforcing full compliance of all COVID-19 guidelines as approved by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) across its Orientation Camps nationwide.  

The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) has today announced its readiness to get back to work if the federal government agreed to pay their outstanding salaries.

The Governor of Ebonyi State David Umahi has brought down the tuition fees payable by students of Ebonyi State University (EBSU). The reduction according to him is to help parents and Guardians pay the school fees and prevent drop out of students from the university.

The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has on Monday announced the release of the 2020 West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results with 86.99 percent of candidates obtaining credits above the minimum of five subjects. WAEC had on Sunday released a statement on Twitter, saying " This is to inform candidates that sat West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates, 2020 that the results of that exam will be released by @waecnigeria tomorrow, Monday, November 2, 2020 by 10:30am."

The Lagos state government has approved the re-opening of schools for all classes in public and private schools across the state beginning from Monday, 2nd of November, 2020. The information was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo on Thursday and made available to journalists by the Head, Public Affairs, Ministry of Education, Mr Kayode Abayomi. According to the Commissioner 2020 has been an unprecedented year with the recent happenings that have regrettably led to frequent closure of schools with attendant learning disruptions faced by all children.

The Federal Executive Council has approved the sum of N2.9 billion for the printing of Exam for the upcoming Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE), common entrance, and basic education exams among others. The Minister of education, Mr. Adamu Adamu disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents after the federal executive council meeting which was held at the council chambers in Abuja on Wednesday.
