The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu has disclosed that many Nigerian graduates can neither read nor write applications after spending years in school. The Minister was lamenting the falling standard of education in Nigeria and its neglects by the concerned stakeholders.

In a bid to promote excellence in tertiary institutions, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has increased the value of its National Admissions' Performance-Merit Award (NATAP-M Award) by 150 percent with the second edition of the Awards ceremony. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, Head of Media and Information, JAMB made this known during an interview on Friday, noting that the Award ceremony is scheduled to take place on 17 December 2020. "We are set to hold our 2019 NATAP-M Award which is a yearly ceremony.

The Federal Government has claimed that finally, it has reached an agreement with the Academic Staff Union of the Nigerian Universities (ASUU) to end the nine-month industrial action today. The statement was released from the media office of the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige yesterday.

Babatunde Ekanola with 275 votes has emerged as the University of Ibadan acting Vice-Chancellor after Idowu Olayinka tenure has elapsed. The election which is yet to be ratified by the Governing Council of the university saw a number of five (5) candidates contesting for the post.

Following the Federal Government's approval to exempt Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) from the Integrated Payroll and Information System (IPPIS), paying salaries of ASUU members using a different mode of payment, Dr. Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment has said that the Federal Government's decision regarding salaries of ASUU is temporary.
