Nigeria has recorded about 155 new Covid-19 cases bringing the total number of cases to 66,383 confirmed cases, with 62,076 recoveries. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the revelation on its website on Monday November 23. According to the health agency the death toll in the country has risen to 1167.
The cases recorded in several states of the country are highlighted below: Lagos with the highest number recorded 60, Katsina state followed next with 37, then Kaduna with 35.
Others are FCT (6), Ogun (4), Edo (3), Kwara (3), Rivers (2), Kano (2), Jigawa (1), Oyo (1) and Taraba (1).
The country has made some gains in its response efforts as it has maintained its level to Covid-19 infections between 100 and 200 cases daily unlike some countries where thousands are infected daily and more lives lost, and to sustain this gains and prevent a second wave of infections through appropriate messages and information, the Director-General of the NCDC Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, last week met with media executives where he spoke on major issues on the pandemic response in country, including testing, infections in schools, vaccines, the second wave outbreak, among others.
