The United Nations Children's Fund has concluded plans to organize a workshop on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) for secondary school girls in Osun, Kano and Enugu. UNICEF Coordinator of MHM, Femi Aluko stated this on Sunday in Oshogbo the Osun state capital while having a chat with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He disclosed that the essence of the workshop was to identify the challenges associated with MHM such as taboos and poor hygiene and proffer solution to them.

A 26-year-old Chinese woman identified as Ma Rongrong has killed herself after she was denied the option of a c-section to deliver a 41-week baby who had an “unusually large head.” Rongrong was 41 weeks pregnant when on August 31 she jumped from the fifth floor of the First Hospital of Yulin in Yulin, Northwest China’s Shaanxi Province.

The management of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has directed Corps Members who are medical doctors to fill the gaps created by striking resident doctors across public hospitals in the country. The Corps' Director of Press, Bose Aderibigbe stated this on Wednesday in a chat with newsmen in Abuja. She stated that Corps members must remember that situations like this require them to step in and offer selfless services to the country. She assured that the scheme would also support the Federal Government in its efforts to better the lives of Nigerians.

Prof. Adegboyega Fawole of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), has warned that Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) has been found in the throat of people engaging in oral sex. Fawole, who is of the Department of Gynaecology, UITH told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Tuesday that HPV was mostly sexually transmitted.
