A new condom for extra endowed men has launched by a Boston-based company.
The condoms, called my ONE Perfect Fit, are available in 60 different sizes, with 10 different lengths and nine circumferences.
In a statement, Davin Wedel, president of ONE Condoms, said “After years of dedication and hard work, we are thrilled to announce a condom that will finally address complaints about fit.”
“You might be able to squeeze your large hands into a size-small glove, but that doesn’t mean it will be comfortable to wear.”
Previously available condoms only fit 12 percent of men, according to a statement.
The most common fitting complaints were that the condoms were too: long, short, wide (loose), or tight. But, the new line of rubbers will fit 9 out of 10 men, the company boasts.
Wedel told The New York Times that since the condoms went on sale in the U.S., customers bought all of the sizes within hours.
He hopes his product will help address the public health issue that not enough people are using condoms to protect against unintended consequences.
“MyONE has the potential to change people’s perception of condoms and ultimately, reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and STI occurrences,” Wedel, who founded the company in 1987, said.
“We’re committed to bringing a smart solution to market by offering comfortable condoms at affordable pricing. In fact, we’re giving away 1 million condoms to help men find their fit.”
Only a third of men in the U.S. ages 15-44 wore a condom during their last sexual encounter, according to recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention—a number which Wedel hopes to change, one customized rubber at a time.
