Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has urged his former club to consider Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner as their next manager following the dismissal of Enzo Maresca. Cundy believes Glasner has already demonstrated the pedigree and tactical acumen required to succeed in the Premier League and would be a strong fit for the Stamford Bridge job.
Chelsea are currently searching for a new permanent head coach after opting to part ways with Maresca. “Oliver Glasner should be the top choice for Chelsea. He has shown himself to be a fantastic manager,” Cundy said during a discussion on talkSPORT.
“Chelsea isn’t going to get the best manager. For example, we aren’t going to get Pep [Guardiola].”
Maresca departs the club after nearly two years in charge, a spell that saw Chelsea lift the UEFA Europa Conference League as well as the FIFA Club World Cup.
