Manchester United's big money signing, Paul Pogba has been named the winner of the Europa League Player of the Season award for 2016/2017. The player who grabbed the award during a gala ceremony organized a day after the Champions League draw in Monaco, played a significant role by assisting Manchester United to win the Europa Cup for the first time after defeating Ajax in the finals of the competition.
In his speech, the elated player thanked his teammates and fans for their support and assured that the club would win more trophies in the current season.
According to him "Thank you. I'm really honoured to be the first to win the best player for the UEFA Europa League. Hopefully this season will be as good as last season -- let's see!"
Yesterday, Christiano Ronaldo was named the UEFA player of the year.
