Former Super Eagles striker Bartholomew Ogbeche who has hit a purple patch for Dutch top division side Willem II in the Dutch Eredivisie has picked up the Dutch player of the week award.
Ogbeche followed his hattrick two weeks ago against VVV Venlo with a brace against Heracles, which has taken his goal tally to six in his last three games, and overall six goals in five league game.
The 33 year old who is in the final year of his contract at Willem II is however not pushing for a recall to the senior national team of Nigeria, but insist he is ready if called up by the coach.
“I know they are some young players in the team, who are in the plans of the coach but I’m ready to contribute my quota if called upon by the coach”, Ogbeche said.
“The national team is every players dream, I have played at the World Cup but I was 18 then and now I feel I’m way experienced to do well if given a chance, but for now it’s not something that’s on my mind, I just want to keep doing well for Willem II”.
