Following the demise of the Nigerian former Speaker, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, who passed on in the wee hour of this morning wednesday, President Bola Tinubu has sympathized with the Na’Abba family, as well as the government and people of Kano State. Presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed this in a statement this afternoon Wednesday condoling the family of Na’Abba who served as the speaker House of Reps (1999-2003).

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State is dead. The Ondo state political leader was reportedly died in Lagos today Wednesday, 27th Dec, 2023 at the age of 67. He suffered from a prolonged illness and was being managed by State House doctors up to his point of death though they could not fly him abroad. 

As Nigerians like the rest of the world celebrates Christmas today, Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) has call on citizens to strive and be Christ-like for peace and unity in the country. The Institute also enjoined citizens to note that Christmas being the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ is seen as the highest celebration in the Christendom should emulate the teachings anchored on peaceful co-existence.

To mark the end of year Christmas and New Year season celebration, the federal government has declared Monday 25, Tuesday, 26 December, 2023, and Monday, January, 1st 2024 as public holidays. The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this known on behalf of the federal government today Friday, December 22. The Minister felicitated with Christendom and all Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora on this occasion to enjoy the yuletide season. 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has disclosed that Nigeria’s 4-Ds foreign policy agenda under president Tinubu administration is targeting towards making it to achieving a permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council. The Minister made the revelation while delivering a lecture today in Abuja on “The Foreign Policy Agenda under the Tinubu Administration” at the Annual Association of Retired Career Ambassadors of Nigeria (ARCAN) Foreign Policy Lecture.

Minister for the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike in his determination to turn around the FCT has promised to complete the abandoned construction of the official residence of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Wike gave the assurance today in Abuja, after inspecting the project being handled by Julius Berger construction company at the three arm zone, Abuja. The Minister applauded contractor for the commitment toward completing the project through returning to the site without even before they are being mobilised by the government.
