The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Lai Mohammed on Monday gave reason why Boko Haram activities may continue, as Nigeria’s inability to gain access to acquisition of adequate weapons to fight the terrorists. Mr Mohammed, made the statement in Benue state during a courtesy visit to the state governor, Samuel Ortom, at the government house. While reacting to issues bordering on insecurity and the latest killing of farmers in Borno State he called for more global support and adequate weapons. The minister said, terrorism is a global issue and the Federal Government needs global support to combat it, adding that added that the nation has been denied this support and without adequate weapons, the nation will remain at the mercy of terrorist.

Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said President Muhammadu Buhari has to approve before the corps can bear arms. He said this was necessary as a result of the current trend of attacks, killing and kidnapping of the corps personnel across the country.

The wife of Olugbenga Ale, chief of staff to Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo state, has been abducted. She was reportedly abducted at Owena in Idanre local government area of the state on Thursday night, while in the company of four other women who were traveling from Lagos. A family source said her vehicle was stopped and she was whisked away alongside two other persons. Information provided by the source reveals that one of the passengers fled into the bush while Ale’s wife, her driver, and one other woman were not so lucky.

Men of the Nigeria Police Force soon get what they have been clamoring for as information has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved salary increment for them. According to a report by Daily post, the salary increment cuts across all ranks of the force. The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, journeyed on Thursday to Ogun State in an effort to boost the morale of police officers after the attack on them during the recent End SARS protest.
