Kano Emirate Skirmishes: Court Bars Bayero, Others From Parading As Emir
A ruling has been made by a High Court in Kano State, Nigeria prohibiting Aminu Ado Bayero from presenting himself as the 15th Emir of Kano. The court has also directed the police to remove him from the mini palace at the State Road until June 1st, 2024 when the substantive motion will be heard. In addition to Bayero, the verdict also had an impact on other traditional leaders: Nasiru Ado Bayero, Ibrahim Abubakar II, Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa, and Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya are restrained from parading themselves as emirs of Bichi, Gaya, Rano, and Karaye, respectively.
