The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has vowed to bring the full military weight on the Indigenous People of Biafra/ Eastern Security Network IPOB/ESN to ensure its total defeat following the killing of five soldiers in an ambush by suspected members of the outlawed group in Abia State. Condemning the killing of the serving personnel, the military vowed to fiercely retaliate the attack.

A ruling has been made by a High Court in Kano State, Nigeria prohibiting Aminu Ado Bayero from presenting himself as the 15th Emir of Kano. A total of three persons lost their lives and seven persons with various degrees of injuries were rescued at the building collapse incident at Papa Ajao, Mushin, Lagos. Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday in Lagos“Following an extensive exercise, the final casualty report on the above incident is that there were 3 fatalities and 7 casualties varying in severity.“The affected buildings have been leveled to ground zero,” Oke-Osanyintolu said.

A former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde passed on this morning owing to a reported case of kidney stone. It was learnt he gave up in a hospital in Egypt during a procedure to remove the stone. Arrangements are been made to fly his remains back to Nigeria on Monday, May 27, for burial in line with Islamic injunctions.
