The Comptroller General of Nigerian Immigration Service, Mohammed Babandede, has disclosed that only President Buhari can decide when the borders will be re-opened.

The President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan said the National Assembly is under invasion by “many unknown and uninvited people”.

President Buhari said he cannot send service Chiefs packing right now because they have unfinished business despite calls from Nigerians that they must go due to the security situation that has continued to escalate in the country.

The report has indicated that up to 20 persons have died in a stampede in Neighboring Niger, while several others sustained various degrees of injuries during a stampede in the South-Eastern part of Diffa, in the above country. The stampede followed struggle by thousands of Nigerian refugees displaced by Boko Haram years of hostilities, to get relief materials supplied by Borno state government.
