President MuhammaduBuhari has set up a committee to periodically review the security situation in the country. This decision to set up the committee was taken at a meeting held on Monday between President MuhammaduBuhari and the leadership of the National Assembly at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The spokesman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Lanre Issa-Onilu has slammed those making commentaries on Boko Haram activities, Kidnapping and banditry, saying it is unfortunate that such comments are assuming ethnoreligious slant which is largely being influenced by partisan narratives by short-sighted individuals. Mr Issa-Onilu said the trend needs to be checked by all concerned who believed in the Nigerian project.
