In an effort to enforce social distancing in public places like markets and check the spread of the coronavirus, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mohammed Musa Bello has directed the enforcement of the use of face masks in all Abuja market places.

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has extended the suspension of National Passport processing and migrant e-registration from 23rd April to 23rd May 2020. The extension order was issued by its Comptroller General (CG), Muhammad Babandele in a statement on Thursday through the Service Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sunday James.

The Nigeria Labor Congress has warned the Federal Government against further extension of the lockdown put in place due to the novel coronavirus pandemic claiming that it could trigger social unrest if the lockdown exceeded one month.
