Following months of negotiations, between the government of Borno State, the Kalthum Foundation for Peace, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and the Department of State Security (DSS), some abducted corps members earlier kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents, have regained freedom.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has resolved to end the menace of the Almajiri children roaming streets across the country; by prescribing the practice in collaboration with State governments and all other relevant stakeholders. President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, 1oth June 2019 welcomed the support of the Italian government to help recover and repatriate illegally deposited Nigerian stolen funds in foreign countries. The President made the assertion when he received a delegation from the Italian Parliament led by Senator Vito Petrocelli, Chairman Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs at State House, Abuja.
