The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has rejected a move by the Federal Government to incorporate varsity lecturers’ wage into the Integrated Personnel Payroll System (IPPIS).

President Muhammadu Buhari has said industrial actions by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) are inimical to the health and progress of higher institutions in Nigeria.

In what appears to be the reward for dedication and hard work, the Federal government of Nigeria has offered automatic employment to 168 outstanding members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), who served in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
