The Nigerian House of Representatives has directed the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, to block all pornographic sites that are being access in the country henceforth. The lawmakers directed the Commission to comply with immediate effect and prevail on all internet service providers to block all such contents to safeguard the youth moral in the mist of decadence.

Nigerian troops of the Joint Taskforce, Northeast Operation Hadin-Kai have rescued a total number of 75 persons from Sambisa forest, Borno State during a fierce operation. Briefing newsmen on Monday during the victims’ handover to the Borno State Government in Maiduguri, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. W. Shaibu stated that the rescued persons comprised seven adult males, 34 women, and 34 children. The GOC, represented by the Deputy Theater Commander, Brig. Gen. A.L. Akpodu explained that the civilians were rescued during a clearance operation conducted by the 21 Special Armored Brigade and the 199 Special Forces Battalion under Operation Desert Sanity IV in Sambisa Forest.

The Defence Headquarters has disagreed with the report of Global Terrorism Index saying the Nigerian military has more accurate account and comprehensive report of counter-terrorism efforts in the country compare to those from external sources. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, made the revelation this morning while fielding questions on the 2025 Global Terrorism Index, which was released yesterday by the office.

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Olatunji Disu, has on Tuesday advised residents of FCT to be vigilant against criminal activities during the period of Ramadan. Disu said this in a statement through the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh,  “As we enter the sacred month of Ramadan—a time for spiritual reflection and community bonding—the FCT Police Command urges residents to remain vigilant against criminal activities during this period”.

A Chief Superintendent Police Officer, Modestus Ojiebe, serving with Kwara State Command has been reportedly kidnapped along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory. Modestus Ojiebe who is attached to the Kwara State Police Command, was attacked while trying to fix his car which broke down near Dei-Dei Police Barracks in Abuja.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar have yesterday Sunday paid condolence visits to the family of late Afenifere Leader, Pa Chief Ayo Adebanjo. During the visit, Jonathan explained why his administration could not implement the recommendations of the 2014 National Conference.
