Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has disclosed reasons his administration chose to tow the path of a peace deal instead of a violent approach with bandits terrorising some parts of the state. Kaduna has been consistently under attacks by bandits, especially during the last lap of President Buhari's administration who reign terror in most communities, especially in Chikun, Kagarko, Giwa, Kajuru, and Birnin Gwari local government areas of the state, in addition to blockade of Kaduna-Abuja highway.

Founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, Aare Afe Babalola SAN, has this morning after much persuasion by royal fathers has agreed to withdraw the cases instituted against activist and lawyer, Dele Farotimi. Babalola’s petition to the police commissioner in Ekiti State alleging that, Farotimi defamed him in a book he published titled ‘Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System’, a complain that made the police arrest the activist lawyer and paraded him before two courts in Ekiti.

The Katsina State Government has slammed participating in any peace negotiations with terrorist bandits, following reports of an alleged peace deal stroked involving bandit kingpins at Batsari Local Government Area of the state. Speaking with Daily Trust correspondence, Dr Bala Salisu, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Culture, clarified that the Katsina state government remains firm in its position against negotiating with bandits.
