A former UN Undersecretary General, Ibrahim Gambari, has warned African leaders of a brewing new Cold War, threatening to divide its nations along geopolitical lines by the world super powers. Mr Gambari, a professor and former minister of foreign affairs, made this known yesterday at the Realnews Conference held in Lagos. The text of his presentation was shared with media men, where the professor highlighted Africa’s precarious position in a rapidly shifting global order.

The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria, KACRAN, has expressed concerns over the proposed state police and the risk in its implementation. The National President of the Association, Alhaji Khalil Bello, who stated this in Damaturu, Yobe State, added that the force may be easily abuse by politicians.

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has revealed that Nigerians will pay for the new multipurpose national identity card citing limited government revenue as a reason. The card, powered by AfriGO, was launched in partnership with the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigeria Interbank Settlement System. The card will be enabled for all government interventions and services across multiple Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
