Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, on Sunday confirmed the killing of 59 persons in Yelwata, a border town between Benue and Nasarawa states, following a deadly attack by suspected herdsmen.

The Nigeria Police Force in Kaduna has dismissed reports circulating in the media that claimed 150 to 200 individuals were kidnapped along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway. According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, these reports are entirely fabricated and have no basis in fact.
