Following the suspension of the nationwide industrial action by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, has stated that it will resume work on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Tuesday, ARD UCH President Dr. Uthman Adedeji confirmed that members would abide by the national mandate. NAN remembers that, in response to the federal government's refusal to comply with its demands, NARD had previously instructed its members nationwide to commence an indefinite strike.

The Association of Radiographers of Nigeria has raised alarm over what it described as a legislative move aimed at undermining the radiography profession and transferring its statutory responsibilities to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. ‎The association’s President, Dr. Musa Dembele, issued the warning on Saturday while addressing journalists at the Kano NUJ Press Centre.

According to him, Nigeria is changing its approach to health financing so that programs for essential illnesses are independent of outside funding.

The Nigerian Thoracic Society (NTS) has called for urgent, coordinated action to eliminate tuberculosis in Nigeria, warning that the country remains one of the world's highest burden nations. It noted that Nigeria currently ranks first in Africa and sixth globally in TB cases, underscoring the scale of the public health challenge.

The Katsina State Government has unveiled plans to reach 19,790 settlements in a statewide immunisation and child healt campaign at reducing preventable diseases and improving child survival rates. The initiative, scheduled for March 28 and 29, will target children from birth to nine months, as welll as those under five years, according to the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Primary Health Care Agency, Dr. Shamsudee Yahaya.

Nigeria has received long-acting injectable lenacapavir (LEN) for HIV prevention; according to the Federal Ministry of Health, this development would increase adherence among individuals at risk of infection and expand preventative alternatives. The novel injection is intended for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), providing an alternative to daily oral HIV medications. It has been approved by Muhammad Pate, Coordinating Minister of Health & Social Welfare, and is funded by the Global Fund.
