Chief of UNICEF Field Office in Kano, Rahama Farah, made the call yesterday at the flag-off of the 2025 1st Round Maternal and Child Health Week held at Birji Primary Health Centre, Madobi LGA.

Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari is in London for medical treatment, according to reports. The former president, who served two terms and stepped down on May 29, 2023, has been overseas since April. Sources close to Mr. Buhari's family claim that he first traveled to the UK for what was billed as a standard medical examination before becoming ill. A man in his 50s has died after being infected with Australian bat Iyssavirus (ABLV), a rare but deadly virus. He became the first confirmed case in New South Wales, health officials said on Thursday, July 3. The man, who lived in the northern part of the state, died several months after being bitten by a bat. Doctors treated him in the hospital for several weeks, but he didn't recover. His death marks only the fourth known fatal case of ABLV in Australia.
