The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Mohammed, has tested positive for coronavirus. This was made known by an online newspaper, Nigerian Lawyer, at the headquarters of the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN) today in Abuja by Justice of the Supreme Court, Ibrahim Saulawa. The report revealed that the CJN was confirmed in Dubai, the United Arab Emirate where he was said to be receiving medication.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has gone into self-isolation after ten (10) of his aides tested positive for COVID-19. The governor who has had at least, three tests since the outbreak of the pandemic will remain in isolation until the results of the tests recently carried out are available. The Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi, who made the announcement, said that Gov. Sanwo-Olu and some members of his cabinet would remain in isolation until the results of the tests held on Friday are available.
Following the surge in the daily record of coronavirus in the country, the Federal Government has blamed the religious organizations for sabotaging the national response in the country through their action of organizing large gatherings and holding events against the laydown protocols.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, a Nigerian former Minister of Finance and contestant of World Trade Organisation, Ngozi Oknjo-Iweala has hinted that Nigeria and other African countries would be given access to the Coronavirus vaccine by end of January, next year through the first quarter of 2021.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says it has confirmed fresh 550 new cases of the dreaded coronavirus in the country. The health agency disclosed this via its verified official Twitter handle yesterday. It revealed that with the additional new cases discovered, it has pushed the Nigerian total infection toll to 70,195.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has revealed that Nigeria has recorded over 300 coronavirus infections for the fourth consecutive days; however the new infection yesterday was 318 persons.
