Iceland, Nigeria's group mate in the 2018 Russia World Cup on Monday said it will enforce a diplomatic boycott of the forthcoming World Cup billed to be hosted By Russia over the poisoning of a former double agent in Britain. Iceland's Foreign Ministry in a statement issued yesterday said;

Chelsea playmaker, Eden Hazard has sent a clear message intended to reassure manager, Antonio Conte and the fans of his commitment to the team. The Belgium international who spoke while on international assignment said he was ready to play in any area for the team provided that he is on the field. The message is coming as shocker to some as Hazard had previously criticized Conte over his tactics after the defeat to Manchester City.

There has been more forced withdrawal in the Super Eagles camp as Kelechi Iheanacho and Shehu Abdullahi are struggling with injuries ahead of the international friendly game against Serbia. Iheanacho is out with a fractured hand while Abdullahi has not recovered from injury.

Super Eagles duo, Jude Ighalo and left back, Elderson Echiejile has called on Nigerian fans to keep supporting the team ahead of Tuesday’s International friendly against Serbia.

In a telephone interview, Ighalo appealed to Nigerian fans to keep the support coming for the team against Serbia.

''We appreciate Nigerians, their support has been immense, but we need more prayers, and their unending support,''Ighalo told Brila FM.

Paul Aigbogun began his reign as Nigeria’s Flying Eagles coach with a 0-0 draw against the Junior Pharaohs of Egypt in a friendly game at the El Borg Stadium in Alexandria, Egypt on Monday.

The game is part of the Flying Eagles preparations for the 2019 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
